THE CLASSIC CHANNEL REGATTA 2011
|
|
The Classic Channel Regatta is a unique event
that offers you, in just one week, a combination of two days racing
round the buoys off Dartmouth, two passage races in the Channel
and two Round the Island races, one round Ile de Brehat
at Paimpol and one round Sark in the Channel Islands.
The regatta has a typically West Country and Breton
informality and the full programme of evening entertainment is
in keeping with this relaxed atmosphere. (Blazers are banned!)
|
|
|
The regatta takes you to two countries and three of the
finest historic ports in the Channel
– beautiful Dartmouth in Devon, lively Paimpol in Brittany and
wonderful St Peter Port in Guernsey.
Eligibility – classic yachts launched before the end of 1975,
including some fibreglass designs, and more recent 'Spirit
of Tradition' yachts are eligible. For full details see "
classes and eligibility
".
With its Corinthian spirit you are welcome whether you
are a racing hotshot or a cruising sailor with a more
relaxed approach to enjoying some gentlemanly racing
in good company. You can enter all or parts of the regatta
as you wish.
|
|
If you are interested in taking part, even if your interest is quite vague at
the moment, please do complete the stage 1 pre-registration which will take
only a few moments. This commits you to nothing but will make sure you are kept
informed as plans progress and will guarantee you a priority place if the
regatta is oversubscribed. It is also a great help to us to know which and how
many boats are considering taking part.
