The Spirit Of The Regatta trophy
For this, and the previous 3 regattas we have commissioned a painting by an artist local to Paimpol. It is used in our publicity material and the framed original is presented as the “Spirit of the Regatta” trophy. The trophy goes to the boat which, in the view of the organisers, best represents the regatta’s Corinthian ethos.
For 2017 we have a watercolour by Paimpolaise artist Isabelle Lagrange Plumier.
Born in Belgium, Isabelle has been living in Brittany since 1985. A self-taught artist, she has been practising the art of watercolor for many years. A lot of her work is inspired by the sea, and she also has a love of horses Horses, also a subject of her paintings.
She opened her workshop in 2004 at Kerfot, close to Paimpol, where she welcomes students for introductory and advanced courses. Isabelle has also hosted seminars with renowned artists at her workshop to exchange ideas and skills to perfect her mastery of this technique.
Her book “Des hommes au service des Phares” was given as a prize at the 2015 Classic Channel Regatta.
